Paola Puppio Zingg
Paola Puppio, (Venezuelan, b.1978) is a contemporary artist, photographer. Photography is the medium she mostly uses to express her art. Exploring through different techniques she evolves her art. Mixing different media she fought for a way out of the flatness of the image. She found she could add depth to her flat photos by combining them with objects encapsulated in epoxy (resin). The thickness of the pieces adds a "magical realism" through the use of contemporary icons. Her art reveals a mix of reality and the fantastical realm, the physical, the spiritual; showing great vitality in being able to reflect modern society while mirroring originality in every aspect of daily life. Her work is independent, emancipated, ethereal.
Paola has lived and studied art and photography in Venezuela, United States, France and Spain and has participated in exhibitions at an international level.
